FARE THEE WELL: Creating Healthier Lifestyles with L.A Vegan Restaurateur Nwenna Kai
Published by Justin D Joseph on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 2:11 pm.When Nwenna Kai was suffering from chronic illness in her early twenties she knew something had to change. “I had complications with my thyroids, I had migraines, I was constantly tired and suffered from depression and anxiety,” she says. Kai decided to eat fresh fruits and vegetables and incorporating juicing. “Along with the other ailments, I had chronic constipation. I decided to start eating mainly fresh fruits and vegetables not realizing I was eating raw. I also juiced and incorporated herbs in my diet, I started to feel better. I realized that the body can heal itself.”
With both a lifelong interest and health and personal experience of healing herself, Kai found her calling. She is a food, lifestyle and health expert helping others get healthy and change their lives through the choices they make when it comes to food and health. As a self-proclaimed entrepreneur, Kai worked in television production before she owned her own vegan restaurant while living in Los Angeles and she also has a self-published book The Goddess of Raw Foods. With a busy schedule, she is happy she is living her best life. “I found my passion through circumstance. I took all of my discomforts and reversed them. I took on a business and my book. I am not a fan of waiting on other people to make my life happen,” she says enthusiastically.
When it comes to attaining health, Kai encourages others “to transform your mind frame first. It is a change in lifestyle and you need a supportive environment to be healthy,” she says. To start the support Kai conducts a Detox Your Life in 7 Days program that will encourage participants to change their eating habits and lives through daily principals. This will enable individuals to jumpstart their lifestyle towards health. Each day there is a different principal along with a comprehensive menu and manual. This program has been very successful and changed lives around the world. Kai is proud that she can help others attain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She would like to remind us all that “eating healthy is an act of self-love.”
