Detrel Howell is these days most often associated with the independent music promotional company One Nation Under The Soul Shack (ONUTSS), which she co-founded. However, Detrel is an avid music lover who, for years has worked quietly behind the scenes as a champion for lesser known artists as a contributing writer for several music-based websites (PlanetSoul, SoulTracks and Rhythmflow.net, where her column “Inspirational Rhythms” focused on the world of gospel music).
