Born and raised in North Carolina, Jonathan Crisp discovered music at an early age. Unbeknownst to his mother, he would sneak to listen to the late night underground hip-hop show on local radio as early as age 7 or 8. This continued for years as his thirst for new and dope hip-hop music seemed it could never be quenched. Fast forward many years later, Jonathan uses the internet in these digital times to continue to seek out and fulfill his love of hip-hop and other genres of great music.

In an effort to share his musical taste with the masses and also promoting the music he loves in the process, Jonathan founded HipHopIsCoolAgain.com. What originally began as just a hobby has transformed into an amazing experience. Through the efforts of his blog, Jonathan has been able to directly connect with the artists he listens to and whose music he loves and become a part of the driving force which strives the keep authentic hip-hop alive and kicking.

Now a resident of Northern California, Jonathan regularly attends shows dabbling in concert photography, contributing to TheMashup.net and traveling to major music festivals such as SXSW and CMJ.
