BEHIND THE GROOVE// ‘For Colored Girls’ Soundtrack In Stores Nov. 2nd
Published by Justin Joseph on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1:03 pm.The anticipation for Tyler Perry’s FOR COLORED GIRLS—a screen adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 Obie Award-winning play, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf—is heating up. And things reached a fever pitch with news of the movies soundtrack. The disc features the talents of an all female line-up of artists that include Janelle Monàe, Estelle, Laura Izibor, Leona Lewis, and the legendary Gladys Knight. The musical collection is rounded out by the sounds of Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Lalah Hathaway, Zaki Ibrahim, and one of the films co-stars Anika Noni Rose.
FOR COLORED GIRLS: MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY THE ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK will be available November 2nd (as the movie will premiere nationwide on the 5th). Can’t wait that long?
