(New York, NY) The “purple day in December”—that Prince referenced as the start date of his “Welcome 2 America” tour, during his impromtu press conference at Harlem’s Apollo Theater—has been revealed. Announced exclusively on local radio station  WBLS 107.5, the tour will kick-off  Dec. 14^th, 15^th and 16^th at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ; then will hit Madison Square Garden on Dec. 18^th and 29^th.  The purple one will be joined by an all-star line-up – Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Cassandra Wilson, Esperanza Spalding—that will this a major musical experience. Tickets go on sale at 10am, Saturday October 30^th via Ticketmaster.
