Okay Ms. Thang! Clad in thigh-high snake skin boots, R&B singer Monica snagged the newly introduced CENTRIC Award during the pre-show for last night’s 2010 BET Awards hosted by Queen Latifah. The talented singer beat out nominees Chrisette Michele, Sade, Melanie Fiona and Maxwell. Tough competition right? After an ensemble change, Monica proved she earned the award, with a performance of her #1 hit “Everything to Me” along with surprise guest Deniece Williams (who’s 1981 hit “Silly” was the inspiration behind the Missy Elliott produced track featured on Monica’s newest album, Still Standing).
