Lil’ Wayne and Drake Set To Release Collaboration Album
Published by Justin Joseph on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 8:54 am.The success of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s joint album, Watch The Throne, was bound to set off a trend in hip-hop. The first rappers to follow suit: Lil’ Wayne and Drake.
In a recent interview with XXL, Cash Money Records president Bryan “Baby” Williams (aka: Birdman), made clear that a collaboration album would definitely be recorded following the release of their upcoming solo projects—Drake’s Take Care, and Wayne’s Tha Carter IV.
“Wayne and I recently talked about [the Weezy/Drake collabo album],That’s definitely going to get done,” said Baby.
You’re probably asking yourself, what will make this album special?
“It’s older versus younger,” he stated. “I listened to a few songs [off Watch The Throne] and it feels like an older feel to me. I think with Drake and Wayne, they young. They young cats. You got 23 and 28. Then you got Jay-Z and them, who are older and really on their way out the game. Then you got Wayne and Drake and them, who are still youthful to the game. So, it’s two different types of music all the way across the board”
