In the early noughties, Ja Rule was undoubtedly one of hip-hop’s reigning stars. His Irv Gotti produced single, “Always On Time” became the biggest hit of his career, reaching number four on the Billboard rap chart, and number one on the Hot 100 and R&B singles charts.

The song, which is also notable for introducing his Murder Inc. label mate,  Ashanti; charted at number 33 on Billboard’s most successful songs of the decade.
