Originally featured on the soundtrack for the 1992 Eddie Murphy comedy Boomerang, Toni Braxton’s “Love Shoulda Brought You Home” became an anthem for women everywhere. The track, one of two that Braxton did for the album, marked her musical debut. Written by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, the song hit #4 on the Billboard R&B charts. It was later featured as a track on Braxton’s self-titled debut released a year later.
