Published by jdwayne on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 3:26 pm.

Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Nicki Minaj, Nas, Dr. Dre, T.I., Drake, Diddy-Dirty Money, Eve, DMX, and Fantasia are just a few names on a laundry list of artists that Grammy Award winning super producer Kasseem Daoud Dean—better known as Swizz Beatz—has worked with.

Producers, like many recording artists, are hot today and gone…today, but for well over a decade, Swizz has managed to remain relevant, served up his signature bombastic tracks to major acclaim and huge returns.

Now married to mega-star Alicia Keys, the New York bred Beatz is gearing up for his second studio album, “Haute Living”, promoting his latest single, “Everyday” featuring Eve, and visiting Centric’s “The Hot 10″ this Saturday for an up-close and personal interview on music and everything in between.

“The Hot 10″  airs every Saturday at 10am/est.

Alicia Keys Celebrates 10th Anniversary of “Songs in A Minor” With One-Night Shows in London and New York, BET Special

Published by jdwayne on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 8:40 am.

If the announcement of Alicia Keys releasing a deluxe collector’s edition of her 2001 debut album, “Songs in A Minor”, wasn’t cause for major excitement; the Grammy winning performer has announced one-night only shows in New York and London.

“Piano & I: A One Night Only Event With Alicia Keys,” will feature the singer, accompanied only by her piano, performing the album in its entirety and her string of hits shes garnered over the past decade.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of songs in A minor, than by holding a special, intimate concert for my fans,” said Keys. “It’s my absolute favorite way to perform. There is something so special about just me on my piano connecting with the audience. It brings me back to the very beginning when I could only perform with a keyboard and to now be able take it back to the essence of who I am with this show, it is so exciting.”

The London concert will take place on June 13th at the Royal Albert Hall and in New York at the Beacon Theater on June 30th.

Prior to the New York show, Keys will perform on the BET Awards 2011 set to air live on June 26th and will be featured in an hour-long special on the network in late June.

Published by jdwayne on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 8:21 am.

It’s hard to believe that its been close to ten years since a corn-rows wearing Alicia Keys—an unknown New York bred classically trained pianist and vocalist—released her debut “Songs in A Minor”, an album that would go on to sell 12 million copies worldwide and spawn a series of hits (most notably the lead single “Fallin’”) and garner her five Grammy Awards.

Fast forward to the present. In celebration of the milestone, Keys is releasing her debut album as a deluxe collector’s edition. The re-release will feature the original tracks, alongside unreleased music and remixes such as: “A Woman’s Worth” (Remix) featuring Nas, “Juiciest” (Mix Tape version), “Fallin” (The “Ali” Soundtrack version), and the previously unreleased “Typewriter”.

The Deluxe Edition two-disc set and Collector’s Edition three-disc set will feature new packaging and an enhanced booklet featuring new liner notes from Keys. The Collector’s Edition will also include a documentary, specifically created for this release with brand new interviews with Keys and other album collaborators, reflecting on the making of songs in A minor

“I can’t believe it’s been ten years since this record. I am so blessed to have fans like all of you, who’ve embraced my songs with such heart. THANK YOU for all these amazing years!!,” Keys writes on her website. “And this is still just the beginning!! Here’s to an incredible future for all of us!”

The Collector’s Edition will also include a documentary, featuring brand new interviews with Keys and other album collaborators reflecting on the making of the album (Trailer below).

“Songs in A Minor”: The 10th Anniversary Deluxe Collector’s Edition will be available June 27th.

Published by DYoung on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 12:09 pm.

The post-divorce pursuits of celebrity wives typically include a steamy and salacious tell all book. But for Mashonda, ex-wife of super producer Swizz Beatz, it means launching a website dedicated to relationships.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT//Rick Ross and Swizz Beatz “The Transporter”

Published by DYoung on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:56 pm.

Kanye West has Good Fridays and Swizz Beatz has Monster Mondays (not to worry, Kanye approves). Over the past few months Swizz has released tracks with  Eve, Jadakiss, Estelle, Busta Rhymes and even his wife, Alicia Keys.

This past Monday, Swizz released “The Transporter” featuring Rick Ross. The track has a smooth, almost soulful groove to it; which is very different from the usual in-your-face beats that Swizz creates. There’s just something about the Teflon Don’s throaty tone that just does it for me. What do you think of Swizz Beatz and Ricky Rozay’s masterpiece?

DOWNLOAD HERE

Ross is about halfway done with his new album, “God Forgives, I Don’t,” so the waiting continues.

For more of Swizz Beatz’ music, check out www.MonsterMondays.com.
