Los Angeles based duo Jack Davey and Brook D’Leau—better known as  J*DaVeY—have finally released their highly anticipated album New Designer Drug, their first album in nearly four years.

“Seeing this project through has been a test of strength, will, and ultimate patience. On this day of final delivery, I feel the same empowerment I felt the day we started this long awaited album,” says Jack Davey.

Featuring guest appearances from Thundercat, Dave Sitek, Polyester The Saint, Kenneth Crouch, Questlove, Khari Ferrari and Greg Wells; the group continues to fuse elements of hip-hop, R&B, funk and electronic music, making quite the successful 11 track album. Listen to it below:

The always eclectic and funkified duo of J*DaVeY (comprised of producer Brook D’Leau and vocalist Briana Cartwright) has released, “Evil Christian Cop : The Great Mistapes“, a 5 track EP that is available for free—but only for a limited time. The EP features co-production by Greg Wells (Teen Spirit) GB (Lazy Daze) and LA-based lyricist Def Sound. With their new deal with big dog Warner Bros. Records, Jack Davey and Brook D’Leau of J*Davey are no longer indie babies. Still the mavericks are steady breathing new life into their former underground scene with this Veronica Hinds’ directed video for “Get It Together.” One of the marquee cuts from one of the three free forthcoming J*Davey’s mixtape EPs, the “Boudoir Syndrome: The Great Mistapes,” “Get It Together” is the kind of unpredictable musical potpourri J*Davey is known for.
