Tess—a New York native—made a name for herself behind the scenes cranking out background vocals for the likes of Music Soulchild. The not-so newbie has been grinding hardcore and was able to work her music on to radio (New York’s Hot 97) with no album or label support. Quite the feat. Since coming on the scene in early 2000, the experimental sound and style of RYAT is constantly evolving. Started as a one woman operation featuring multi-instrumentalist/producer/singer Christina Ryat; RYAT is now a full band. After collaborations with artists like Taylor McFerrin, DJ Logic and King Britt; the group is now on tour and making stops at music festivals and colleges across the country.

Commercial and Indie music unite! Soul singer Choklate releases “OVERDOSE” featuring Drake (ever heard of him?). This unexpected duet is a great fix for music fans who have been craving for something new. The combination of Choklate’s soulful vocals and Drake’s catchy lyrics is kismet. FEFE DOBSON is back with a new album “JOY” schedulded to be released this Fall. Known for her alternative rock edge, the Canadian born singer/songwriter has been in the music scene since her self-titled 2003 release. In the seven years since her debut album, Dobson has matured musically and has seemingly toned down her once in-your-face image. David E Beats is not your typical rapper. A self-taught guitarist, songwriter/producer; he plays and raps simultaneously while on stage; and mixes Blues, Hip Hop and Rock in his recordings to create an eclectic sound. He has been featured on AllHipHop.com, The Source.com, and XXLMag.com.
