Indie soul star Sy Smith and international producer/remixer Mark de Clive-Lowe shut it down at the Little Temple in Los Angeles on May 19, previewing new material from their forthcoming project. Sy Smith adds her signature flavor all over Mark’s delicious broken beat, house, and nu-jazz arrangements. Check out the video for snippets of the performance and interviews with the artists. This is definitely a project to look out for in the coming months.

On February 17, 2010 acclaimed artists N’Dambi and Coultrain took to the stage at Los Angeles’ monthly event Strictly Social. Sponsored by Nu-Soul Magazine and held every third Wednesday at Little Temple (the smaller version of the famed Temple Bar), Strictly Social is one of the few places in the City of Angels where you can see live performances of underground soul talent. Past performers have included Anthony David, Sy Smith, Mark De Clive-Lowe, Kissey Asplund, Choklate, Yahzarah, Yolanda Johnson, and Peter Hadar to name a few.
