Published by Taj R. Chrisp on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 11:38 am.We all love the idea of fame. There’s a little something in all of us that would love to see out name lit on a marquee (literally and figuratively). The students at the New York City High School of Performing Arts know what it’s like to be born with the X factor.
Fame was a groundbreaking movie that hit theaters and entered the hearts of millions in 1980. Raw talent, dance, and performance were the recipe for success and it worked to create a cult classic. Due to the success of the movie “Fame” became a television series that ran from 1982 until 1987 exposing young talents like Gene Anthony Ray and a blossoming Janet Jackson. With the involvement of the incomparable Debbie Allen (pictured above) the “Fame” brand was destined for success from the start.
If you want to relive your favorite “Fame” moments then tune in this Saturday at 9AM EST to a marathon of some classic “Fame” episodes only on Centric.
