20 TO 1 COUNTDOWN: GET YOUR VOTE ON
Published by tajchr on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 12:19 pm.With almost 20 years in the music industry the sultry songstress Toni Braxton is no stranger to the spotlight.
In the early 90’s Toni Braxton became the “First Lady of LaFace Records” after catching the attention of music heavyweights Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and L.A. Reid. With natural musical talents (vocals, piano, and songwriting) Braxton’s career took off with back-to-back hits including, “Another Sad Love Song,” “Breathe Again,” and the unforgettable and timeless “Unbreak My Heart.”
After sellings millions of albums in the 90’s and racking up quite a few Grammy Awards, Braxton’s career transitioned from one stage to another. In 1998 she took a role in “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway, following a very public bankruptcy. After success on Broadway—and some business reconfigeration— Braxton returned to the studio and recorded her third album, The Heat which spawned the hit, “He Wasn’t Man Enough,” earning her another Grammy, and two American Music Awards.
